I've always thought it was pretty cool that my birthday is the very last day of the year. As my birth day comes and a new age year ends and a new one begins, so does the calendar year. It's been that way my whole life so I know no different ;)
For me, it's always so good to reflect over my past year. I like to thank the Lord for all the many things that have happened in the past year and to reflect over what I would like to avoid in the upcoming one. I don't believe in "doing better" or "trying harder" because let's face it: we are all sinners saved by Grace, and since I still have the sin nature within me there will be no improvement going on. Pretending it is possible is a waste of time and even worst is actually attempting it. The goal is to gain more God and give myself up. "Let go and let God" many people say. A very well known awesome man named Paul (you know...the apostle) also said "No longer I but Christ." Lord, oh how we need You!
So, this is not a list of improvements but more of a list of things I'd REALLY like to accomplish in 2015. By the way, 31 is a lot lol!
These are in no particular order of importance:
These are in no particular order of importance:
1) Keep up my blog with something (Levi will be 1 next month, so what will I write about now?!)
2) Visit Charlotte, NC (I miss all of you SOO VERY MUCH!)
3) Go to a conference and/or training
4) Finish life-study book of Leviticus (I honestly need to start over and finish haha)
5) Read "Breaking of the Outer Man and Release of the Spirit" and "Knowing Life and the Church"
6) Visit California (a very big possibility!)
7) See my other family; Tim's family (goes along with number 6!)
8) Keep up my workout routine of 3 good aerobic workouts every week and add strength training to my life at least 1 time a week..probably weight bearing training (my bones will thank me!)
9) Go visit someone once a month (I hope more if I can figure out how with two small children!)
10) Floss a lot more than I do now! (My pitfall ;))
10) Floss a lot more than I do now! (My pitfall ;))
11) Get rid of some things we don't use or need..declutter our lives and simplify!
12) Spend less time on social media (goes with number 11). My goal is to only get on Facebook once a day by December next year and go from there. I need a purging..sadly. (There is grace for really big days where I need to keep checking sweet messages or other exciting days..like birthdays! :))
13) Stop adding things to Pinterest and do a few I really am interested in (goes with 11 and 12 Ha!)
Good luck on this one..maybe I should say add less things and only those things I can do right now not years later.
14) Go on a 1 night trip with just Tim and I! (Praying for this one hehe!)
15) Do something fun with the kids outside the house once or twice a week.
16) Have someone over once a week (bare minimum) and invite people over more for dinner! :)
17) Game nights once a month at our place!
18) Call a friend once a week (same friend or different)
18) Call a friend once a week (same friend or different)
19) Finally finish my Chinese Rosetta Stone
20) Drink enough water
21) Finish reading Old Testament with footnotes (this will complete my 1st reading of the entire Bible with all footnotes!!)
22) Finish reading all the many magazines I have piled up
23) Have 6 date nights this year (crosses fingers) which is an average of 1 every other month. This does not include our night away on #14!
24) Go swimming at least once (didn't swim at all this year except for kiddie pool ;))
25) Spend real quality time together for an hour as a family at least twice a week (the hubs is super busy..you don't even know!)
26) Go to Disneyland 1st time (goes with 6 and 7)
27) This is getting hard! Paint the kid's bathroom walls.
28) I'd like to start a journal this year that I actually write in..nothing digital!
29) Organize all my pictures on computer and save them to my external hard drive
30) Organize washer/dryer room
31) Plan meals for the week every week unless I'm deathly sick
32) Keep our yard cleaned up this year (front and back yard)
33) Morning Revival with the Lord every morning
OOPS.. so I made a list of 33. I went through everything, and I really can't delete one of them! I'll just say that 2 of them are honorary (that also gives me leeway to totally fail miserable on 2 of them and not feel terrible ha!)
Here's to me turning 31 and my 32nd year of life!
Happy New Year!!
