Fun at the State Fair

The State Fair comes every October. Tim and I have always loved the fair and now our boys do too. We go every year. We usually try to go twice each time, but we only made it once because we went out of town for Caleb's birthday party on one of the weekends it was going on. The weather was so perfect the day we went. It was cool but not so cold that you needed a coat. It was a nice break from all the heat we had been having. It was early on a Saturday morning, so not too many people were there. People usually sleep in on Saturdays, but when you have two young kids who wake up early every day you don't get that luxury haha. I was happy though that it wasn't overly crowded and uncomfortable. It was just right.

We fed and pet some animals at the petting zoo, watched part of the circus act (I guess that's what you would call it), visited an Ag exhibit, played a few fun games, won a couple prizes, met up with some friends, rode one ride, and ate some food. It was a successful fair trip.

he was a pro!

I helped Levi, but he was really afraid of the animals at first.

We went back to the petting area a second time with our friends.
This time he was more brave.

He even pet a goat all by himself!

Levi kept finding these carrot pieces on the ground that
you can buy to feed the animals and recycled them haha

He did a good job!

We also got to watch a pig race. Those pigs were HUGE.

There was even a zebra.

It was very windy, and this woman was freaking me out.

I mean, seriously, why would you do this to yourself???

Well good news is she survived. Whew!

This couple has a pretty cool act.

I would bust it if I tried to do this.

Here the guy totally tripped and almost hurt himself.
I somehow caught it on the camera. Then he kept going..brave man.

Levi was watching the people performing.

In the Ag exhibit, Caleb practiced his roping skills.

There was a corn pit with toys...similar to a sand pit.

The boys played on toy tractors. Aren't they the cutest?!

Caleb played and won his first game!

We got the free biscuits they have at the fair every year. YUMM!

We ran into Kaili and Terry.
They shared some of their turkey leg with me :)

I just had to try the alligator,
and we all shared. It wasn't too bad actually.

We also got nachos for the boys...

and Caleb used his birthday money from
Nana to buy some ice cream which he shared with Levi. :)
