August was full of silly fun at home, brother love, park time, playing with friends, and Caleb starting Pre-k3.
Fun at home:
| Levi loves to climb onto everything. |
| He pulled all the DVDs off the shelf and made himself a seat. Haha. |
| Next, there was the bright idea to turn over the shopping cart and climb on it. |
| Levi also learned how to climb onto the toilet in my bathroom and mess with stuff he shouldn't. He can climb up without the stool and with it. Talk about adding stress to my life.We can't ever let this kid out of our sight! |
| Caleb's idea of fun was going "camping". It was his favorite thing to do in August. We made LOTS of tents and camping areas :) |
| Caleb was tickling Levi here. |
| Reading books by a battery run lantern in a sleeping bag under a sheet tent :) |
| Levi thought it was more comfortable to sit outside the closet and read books. |
| Goofy happy kiddo |
| Having fun with Daddy |
| One day Caleb fell asleep next to me in my bed during nap time. This was Levi's attempt at waking him up. |
Giggling at the dinner table
This is Levi's super silly cheese face. |
| Levi was actually giggling at brother being goofy. |
Brother love:
| These boys don't like each other at all.... |
| Caleb dislikes Levi the most. Just kidding. They definitely love each other! |
| Sweet brothers |
Park time:
| Our first time at this part of the park. |
| Caleb climbing the huge rock wall |
| There was also some digging in the dirt... |
| Another day we went to a different park. This is our favorite park in the summer. It's a huge playground with 3 sections for babies, toddlers, and bigger kids. It's also shaded with huge canopies. The tubes on this slide roll when the children go down the slide. It is so cool. My kids love it! |
| Double sliding |
| Yet another park. Tim took the boys to this one while I was in an eye doctor appointment. I still haven't been to this one yet.... we need to go again soon! |
Playing with friends:
Caleb starting Pre-k3:
| Our big boy's first day of Pre-k3! |
| He's such a cutie pie... |
| And he was really excited about school! |
| His first day in his new classroom! His old buddy Nathan from his 2 year old class (and a few more of his former friends) is in his class again! Of course they don't remember each other (it's been a year since they've seen each other), but I have a feeling they will be close friends again soon. |
| This was how the boys reacted when we got back home from Caleb's first day. |
| There were lots of laughs, hugs, and playing. They missed each other! |
| Later on that week I got a picture of him in front of his preschool building. :) |
Daddy also took the boys to the zoo for some fun. Sadly, I wasn't able to join them. That day ended up being a special back to school event with bounce houses and water fun. The boys had a blast!
Sayings with Levi:
As I was cutting cantaloupe, Levi wanted to eat some. I gave him a small piece.
L: "Some some some" (he says this for I want some.)
Me: "Say more please, Levi"
L: "More"
Me: "More please"
L: "More more"
Me: "Say more please, please"
L: "Thank you Thank you Thank you" (frantically)
I laughed so hard. I guess he was confused on what I was asking of him, and just skipped straight to the thank you part. Well, it worked. hahaha!
Levi learned how to say "happy", and when he's happy he says "happy happy happy" in an incredibly high pitched cute toddler voice. One day in Kroger, he got a snack and was singing "happy" as we walked through the store. It made me happy too, and he got a few smiles :)
A few words Levi started saying in August are Ai-ya (An Asian saying which basically means...oh man or a reaction of frustration, but Levi doesn't know that is what it means haha), circle, gas (When he or anyone poots...it's quite hilarious, but I should probably teach him not to point it out haha), boo (When playing peek-a-boo), chocolate (gets pretty close, but not 100% clear), water, spider, hippo, know (for "I don't know" with a question intonation), and sausage (sounds like saw-soo).
The new phrases he said for the first time: "Yes, Ma'am", "No, mine!", "Here, dad" (When he hands Tim something), "I do it." (This one is still going strong in October haha.), "No! It's mine!", "No, Mom hold" (or just "Mom hold" as in Mom hold me), and "Oh no! Heart!" (When listening to the first song on the Frozen cd. He learned this phrase from Caleb saying it.)
Sayings with Caleb:
C: Mom, come back here after you go in the kitchen (Tim and I clean up the kitchen and dining room after the kids go to bed).
Me: Caleb, you need to go to bed.
C: You come back and lay with me.
Me: I can't lay with you. I need to lay with Daddy.
C: You need to lay with Caleb. (haha)
Me: Mommy is too big for your bed.
C: The bed is too big for you.
Me: No, Caleb. The bed is too small. Haha.
C: Ok. You come back and sit on the floor next to me and watch me sleep.
Me: *heart melting* Ok. I'll come sit with you just for a little bit. Ok?
C: Ok. *big smile*
"How about that?" (He asks this after making a suggestion.)
A few fun facts about Levi:
Would put his dirty dishes in the sink when he's done eating
Learned the letters P, B, C, V, and X (Will say these letters when we sing the alphabet song)
Favorite books were "ABC Look at Me" and "Jesus Loves Me"
Started being interested in watching tv but still doesn't watch it for very long
Began enjoying to wrestle with Caleb in a fun way (Before he would cry if Caleb tried to tackle him or touch him haha)
Acknowledged airplanes in the sky and said "airplane" for the first time
Started eating salad sometimes (My salad that is... I think he just likes eating what I am eating)
Tried to sing "Jesus Loves Me" by humming with us and saying some of the words
Began to get brave and would climb onto places 1-2 feet high and try to jump off...more like fall off on purpose haha
A few fun facts about Caleb:
Started Pre-k3
Got really interested in babies and how they are made (Our friend was very pregnant at the time, and her belly was very noticeable. He started asking where babies come from and if he can have a baby brother or sister. :) )
Learned how to play Red Light, Green Light
Lastly, a few more pictures to enjoy of our life in August:
| Tim and I got to go on a date! It was so fun. Japanese food and a walk at the park. |
| My cutie pie husband/date |
| Love this man |
| One morning I had a doctor's appointment. Caleb was in school, and Levi stayed with a friend. He had a blast at her house! |
| Having lunch at CFA with our buddy Cooper. Levi was tired and cranky...Caleb was being his silly self haha |
| Levi playing peek-a-boo |
| Levi at his 18 month appointment. His stats were 23 lbs (15%), 33.25 ins (80%), and 47.5 cm head (45%). |
| Goofball brothers hehe |
| This boy cracks me up. |
| This one cracks me up too... I mean that hair though... |
| Levi making friends at our favorite place to eat and play: Chickfila. |
| He's not too big to snuggle with mommy just yet. |
| Levi the salad snatcher |
| Caleb's first week of school, and his practice at home must've paid off! Look at those A's! |
| Our big boy got a new twin size bed. He had finally outgrown his crib bed (which was converted into a toddler bed). We decided it would be best to leave it on the ground for now until he gets use to it. He loves it! |
