On April 18th, we drove to Birmingham to meet up with a family close to our hearts and to enjoy a Thomas the Train outing. Both of our sons love Thomas, and since their family was already planning on making the trip we decided to join them. It was cloudy but pretty hot. We didn't mind the heat too much though because the forecast was rain which would have really put a damper on the fun. We always have a great time with the Tates and love living closer to them since we have moved back to MS (although that never stopped them from visiting us when they were travelling nearby or us seeing them when we came home for visits :))
| Caleb had a train conductor outfit he wore for a little while. |
| His favorite part was blowing the whistle :) |
| First, we went inside an old train car and watched Thomas for a little bit. |
Next, we went inside a HUGE tent that had tons of train tables
set up which both boys loved. |
We finally found the Tates and while we waited in line to ride Thomas,
they played in bubbles (which you can't see in the picture haha). |
| They had a lot of fun! |
| Waiting for Thomas to drive up was pretty exciting! |
| London was super excited. |
Levi didn't have a clue what was going on. He
was more worried about his snack :) |
| As Thomas was pulling in, the boys danced for joy :-D |
| Look at that smile! |
| The boys had such a good time together on the train. |
| Even Levi was excited once he got on |
| He loved looking out the windows. |
| Caleb couldn't stop smiling... |
| or staring out the windows :) |
| These two are so sweet together (love it!) |
The trip wasn't just for the boys. I couldn't miss an opportunity to spend
time with one of my best friends from childhood. |
We tried to get a group picture, but London wasn't feeling it at the moment
which is ok because I got lots of cute pictures of him anyway ;) |
| After the train ride, we shared a snow cone,.... |
| Played at the bubble station...and acted silly :),.. |
| And Caleb and Levi played putt putt golf for the first time. |
| Levi was extremely cute! |
| Caleb actually did pretty well! |
| Levi refused to be Sir Topham Hatt, so Mommy got to do the honors :) |
Then we let the kids play for a little bit longer before we headed out to grab dinner at P.F. Changs. |
We had such a good time with Logan. Heather, and London. I'm very thankful to have had this time with them and to forever have this trip as a memory of our friendship. It was Caleb's first time to be at something like this where he actually knew who the character was and was excited about it. It was extremely sweet and my mommy heart was full of joy to see the boys so happy.
To end...just a few more pictures of our day together...
